It’s nearing the end of Summer, and many students are wanting to have a day out at the beach with friends. Usual places like Zante and Ibiza are populated right up till Freshers, but graffiti artist, Banksy has decided to take over Weston-Super Mare Beach (a mere 2 hour drive from Birmingham), for their own theme park, ‘dismaland’.
The park features international artists, such as Damien Hirst, and is targeted as an alternative day out to Disney. You may believe that the Disneyland’s are too focused on being unrealistic and family-orientated (also they cost a bomb to get there). The organisers of this have said this is “unsuitable for children”.
One thing is certain. On your visit here, this won’t be the “happiest place on Earth”. This will be an experience like no other.
Tickets are available from 21st August from www.dismaland.co.uk for just £5. Expect tickets to be sold quickly, as the expedition/ theme park is open for just 5 weeks from August 22nd to September 27th 2015. Limited tickets will also be available at the gate.
