Scratch Media

Scratch Media comprises of four organisations; Scratch Radio, Scratch TV, SnapScratch and The Scratch.

Scratch Radio is Birmingham’s Favourite Student station.  Broadcasting 24/7 a variety of latest music and niche shows. We have industry grade equipment and software, giving our presenters a test of real radio.  Our presenters come from a variety of backgrounds, some study media courses, others work in media, others present as a hobby.

Scratch TV is a student led television channel in Birmingham, airing online on our YouTube channel, and across the University!  Producing shows on all things BCU, Birmingham and Student life.  Scratch TV have access to industry grade equipment based in the award winning BCU School of Media, hosting among other things the largest fixed green screen in Europe.

The Scratch is the student produced magazine covering topics such as Sport, Student life, Entertainment and Technology.  The Scratch uses a variety of tools widely used in industry and offers opportunities for journalists to hone their righting skills and graphic designers to show their creative flare.

SnapScratch is the photography group at the University, who have regular photography workshops, meetings and trips in lots of different areas of photography!
